standing male limited palette

This was my first limited palette figure study. My palette: lead white, titanium white, nickel yellow, naples yellow, raw sienna, barok red, alizarin red permanent, turkey umber, ivory black. All are Williamsburg except for the barok red, which is Old Holland. The ivory black serves as my "bluish" color.

grisaille reclining female

This is completely not done and not one of my best grisaille paintings, but this is the work where somehow I advanced my skill a bit and actually placed the paint and painted a little thicker. Up until this painting I painted with very thin paint and pushed value around rather than boldly placing it with deliberate strokes.
